The last time we saw Matt Hughes fight, he was being helped from his back after being knocked out cold by B.J. Penn in 21 seconds at UFC 123 on Nov. 20.

The last time we saw Georges St. Pierre fight, he destroyed Josh Koscheck’s orbital bone during their fight at UFC 124 on Dec. 11.

St. Pierre dominated Koscheck from start to finish and retained his UFC welterweight championship title with a unanimous decision victory.

Matt Hughes has decided that now is a good time to come out and take a swipe at St. Pierre.

Hughes posted the following in his website, “To me the GSP fight was boring and I’m even going to tell you why I think it was boring: because I believe GSP is on defense.”

“Number one, he doesn’t want to lose the belt and, number two, I think the UFC is paying him too much money and he doesn’t want to lose that either. I don’t know what’s going on in his mind; but he just doesn’t seem like he wants to finish anybody.”

Hughes and St. Pierre do have a history, so these comments should be read with that in mind.

The two have fought on three occasions with Hughes winning the first fight via submission and St. Pierre winning the next two. St. Pierre’s first win was via technical knockout and his second victory was via submission.

All three bouts between St. Pierre and Hughes were UFC title fights. Hughes captured the vacant UFC welterweight title in their first fight.

St. Pierre’s first victory over Hughes was for the interim welterweight strap and his second win was a defense of the welterweight belt.

The two also had a run in inside the cage after Hughes defeated B.J. Penn at UFC 63. After that fight, which took place on Sept. 23, 2006, St. Pierre took the microphone and told Hughes, “I am not impressed with your performance.”

Hughes also takes a shot at recently retired Chuck Liddell on his site. Hughes, congratulating Liddell on his new position as UFC Executive Vice President of Business Development and then posted the attached interview on his website.

Hughes said the shot at Chuck was “all in good fun,” since Liddell and his brother had poked fun at Hughes in the past.

Hughes then closes his post with a Bible verse, as he usually does when posting to his site.
