JOSE ‘Junior’ ALDO

Aldo is rightfully favorite for this fight. He is a phenomenally fast striker with both hands and feet and packs a great deal of power. He also has a very solid takedown defence, so on his feet or on the ground, Aldo looks the stronger fighter.

For a featherweight, Aldo has a hell of a lot of knock out power. He’s won nearly 70% of his fights by TKO and a lot of commentators think that he will do the same to Faber.

URIJAH ”The California Kid’ FABER

However, most of the fighters Aldo has encountered before don’t have Faber’s speed. ‘The California Kid’ will want to avoid Aldo’s lethal kicks and he has a better chance than most to do so.  Having won 7 fights by TKO, Faber does have striking skills of his own, but these are nowhere in Aldo’s league. He will want to get the fight on the ground where he is strongest. With over 50% of his wins coming by submission, this is where he will feel he has a chance to overpower Faber.

ALDO vs FABER PREDICTIONS AND BETTING PICKS

I hate to follow the crowd, but I’m going to have to pick Jose Aldo to win this one. His all-round game is just better than Faber’s. However, while many people are predicting TKO in Round 2, I think it will go a round further than that before Aldo’s striking power catches up with Faber.
