TUF 10 interview: McSweeney would love to smash Kimbo

This may be a recurring theme. The Ultimate Fighter 10, featuring heavyweights and Kimbo Slice, kicks off next Wednesday and it seemed like a lot of the dudes were ready to be the guy to take out the Miami streetfighter. Kimbo is facing an uphill climb with the roster on hand. There’s a few guys with little experience but then there’s fighters like James McSweeney, who is moving over from a kickboxing background, where he was 136-9:

“I could give a [expletive] that Kimbo is here,” McSweeney said right at the start of taping for the show. “Why would I be worried about a guy who’s had a couple of fights in the cage and maybe 10 or 20 on YouTube. It doesn’t mean nothing to me.”

That said McSweeney realizes Kimbo’s presence only helps him and the rest of the fighters:

“I’m enjoying the publicity that he’s bringing, cause if they put him against me I’ll knock his ass completely out.”

McSweeney (12-4 MMA) normally trains with Rashad Evans and Greg Jackson at Jackson’s Submission Fighting in Albuquerque.
