Thomas Gerbasi, UFC – For most elite college athletes, the end of school usually signals a jump to the NBA, NFL, or MLB and all the perks that come with it. Wrestlers, maybe the hardest workers in that bunch, don’t have that luxury. There is no professional league for ‘real’ wrestlers, no automatic leap into a higher tax bracket as a payoff for being one of the best in the world at what you do. For those athletes who compete in the wrestling room, graduation means your career as a world-class competitive athlete is probably over, and now you’ve got to go get a job.
