Former WWE stars keep coming: This one calls out Kim Couture

She has zero professional mixed martial fights but that doesn’t mean Lisa Marie Varon, better known as “Victoria” in the WWE, isn’t shooting high. At least as far names go. Victoria (pictured on the left), who is 38 years old, is trying to capitalize on the recent progress of female MMA fighting by jumping into the fray. Her manager J.T. Stewart, who also manages the UFC’s Rich Franklin, thinks the former fitness model has what it takes to make a big splash in MMA:

“Obviously, with the exposure from the WWE, she already had the marquee value,” Stewart told Dann Stupp from the Dayton Daily News. “She has the name. Women’s MMA is just starting to peak, and with her built-in fan base, she’ll have lot of opportunities with endorsements, sponsorships, autograph signings and card shows.”

Stewart says just like Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley, Varon’s transition should be a success:

“Plus, she’s also just very athletic. We’ve seen Lashley and Lesnar cross over and do very well in MMA. I’d expect no less from her.”

That seems reasonable. She sounds like she has a similar background to a pair of guys who were highly accomplished amateur wrestling stars. Who wants to take a shot at this one? A few shots to the face, a kick to the ribs or a rear-naked choke in a real fight may change Varon’s mind quickly. That said, no one can deny her the chance at trying to make a buck and you know some local promoter will try to capitalize.

Stewart said the goal is to reach Strikeforce and potentially fight Randy Couture’s wife Kim.
