Jesse Ventura defends ‘Ultimate Boxing’

UFC is fighting some demographic issues. From T.J. Simers’ column to this Larry King interview with Jesse Ventura it’s clear that educating folks about mixed martial arts in that 60-plus range is a slow process.

King says “Ultimate Boxing” is passing boxing. Ventura, the former WWE wrestler, Navy Seal and Governor of Minnesota, quickly corrects him and makes the case that UFC is actually safer than boxing. Ventura did say he was ashamed by the behavior of Brock Lesnar. King presumably not knowing who Lesnar was or what he did at UFC 100 steamrolled right past the comment. But what do you expect from a guy who asked Andre Agassi if his wife “Stephanie” was going to continue playing … seven years after she had retired. Good ole’ Larry.
