Dana White seems determined to bring MMA heavyweight Fedor Emelianenko to the UFC and what White wants, he tends to get.

He’s promising a match against UFC Heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar, which should be some fight.

However, first Fedor – who is the top MMA heavyweight in the world – must defeat Josh Barnett at Affliction on August 1st.

Barnett, just so you know is ranked 2nd top heavyweight and both men are above Lesnar.

Fedor is clear favorite for this one at -400 at BetEd. It’s no wonder, as he has lost only once in 31 fights and has an awesome combination of skills, including both judo and boxing.

However, Barnett is a lot younger than most of his recent opponents and his ranking of #2 MMA heavyweight says he’ll be no pushover. He’s +350 with BetUS and I can see the appeal.

However, Barnett isn’t a striker and Emelianenko will probably out-think, outclass and outfight him in the end. It will be well worth watching, but I pick Fedor to win.
